My interest in biology is driven by the incredible diversity and beauty of marine invertebrates. A major goal of my PhD work is to resolve evolutionary relationships among gastropods at different levels, particularly clades of vetigastropods. Working with these shelled organisms also allows me to incorporate their extensive fossil record to study phenotypic evolution.

I use morphological data from recent and fossil shells to understand how the shape of the shell changed starting in the Mesozoic Era, possibly as a response against increased predation. My research integrates field and museum work, molecular phylogenomics, shell morphology and comparative biology. For more information on my research, please visit my website (link below).
